***UPDATED FOR 2017***
I’m often asked for recommendations of where to find great vegan food in London, so I thought it might be helpful to create this handy guide.
The funny thing about these requests is that they most often come from people who aren’t vegan at all, but who are looking for somewhere to enjoy a meal out with a mixed group of family or friends. So you’ll quickly notice that not all (in fact, not many at all) of those listed below are fully-vegan restaurants, but all have some great vegan-friendly options. These aren’t always marked as such on menus, so it always pays to ask the staff and check ingredients.
I think this goes to show just how great London has become for vegans, vegetarians and those looking to try something new (and to find out that vegan food really isn’t weird).
Finding Vegan Food in London

This is a really great list! I’ve been living in London for just under six months now, and I’ve only come across a few of these… Other places I love are Cupcakes & Shhht, a vegan bakery in Elephant & Castle, and Greensmith’s, a wholefoods supermarket which isn’t exclusively vegan.

Just an update that may be helpful: FED by water is now a fully vegan restaurant. Their homemade vegan cashew cheese was insane. Thank you for this amazing list and the PDF. I have already tried over a dozen of these places and they have all been awesome so far.
